Zaffira 2003 by Thomas Baecker 36" Porcelain Standing Doll #63/1500 Like Rustie

Description: Beautiful ZAFFIRA Limited Edition #63/1500 Porcelain Standing Doll of the German Doll Artist Thomas Baecker. This doll is 36 Inches in length (91.44 cm) and weighs under 8 Pounds (3.5 Kilograms) and is part of the 2003 Thomas Baecker RUBY DOLL Line. I bought this doll direct from Frankfurt,Germany in 2006. It was displayed briefly in 2006 in a smoke free home. After that, it was placed in climate controlled storage, until I removed it to be photographed for this listing. It comes with the original dress, shoes and Certificate of Authenticity, jewelry, stand and original box. A few things to note. The wig was changed out for a longer version. Also, the box that the doll was originally shipped to me in, was taped up. Not sure why, when that box was then placed in a heavy exterior shipping cardboard box. Of particular interest with this doll, is the jewelry (the earrings and necklace). These are real gemstones!!! The Certificates includes an Origin and COA from PRANDA JEWELERS which shows that the stones for the earrings are Blue Topaz Pear cut from Brazil. Total Carat Weight: 4.575. The one thing I caught was that the Certificate shows the stones as White Topaz, which is clearly a typographical error. In addition, I switched out a gold tone costume floral necklace that the doll originally came with (which I am including in the sale in this doll), for the one shown in the photos, which also contains a Blue Topaz Pearl Cut stone from Brazil. I bought this necklace separately as part of a PRANDA Jewelry lot of jewelry that was specifically made for Thomas Baecker dolls. If you live in the United States, then you are likely to be far more familiar with the United States Doll Artist Rustie's line of Limited Edition Porcelain Dolls of roughly the same size. Sadly, there really was no United States distribution of Thomas Baecker German made Porcelain Dolls, back when they were in production. You were only able to get them through a few United States doll collectors who knew about them and had ordered them, largely for their own personal collections. There were 3 Limited Edition Porcelain Doll Series that Thomas Baecker produced dolls for: Queens GalleryAngels ParadiseRuby Doll I came to know Thomas Baecker back in 2006 through one of his business associates. This was also at the time he was selling off his inventory and was no longer producing dolls. Between 2005-2007, I ended up buying many first in series and concept dolls from Mr. Baecker and other Doll Artist that he worked with. If you are seeing this listing from outside of the United States, then you should know that the cost of shipping this doll from the United States will be high.
