Please contact me if you have any problems before making a purchase. This sale offers a vintage and original photograph of Frederick Hugo Kies of Lyndoch Australia dating to the 1920s. Shows Kies in his schoolboy uniform. Photographer is G. Graus Tanunda. The reverse of the photo it is handwritten: "Fred Kies, Born 28 Jan 1908, died 11 April 1943 (age 35y, 2 mt, 4 days). To Hutchinson's Hospital on Wednesday the 10th of March 1943. Died Sunday morning at 12:10am 11th April 1943." Kies is buried at Lyndoch Cemetery in Australia and died during the World War II era. My research shows he was married on 2/10/1934 to Winifred Doris Fieldhouse Lovell (1905-1995). Photo card measures 12cm wide x 16.5cm tall and the actual black and white image is 7.5cm x 12.5cm. Card has been cut (see scan) and back shows remnants it was once glued in an album. Image is clear. Card has rough edges and some creases. Interesting piece of history - worthy of more research!
