The Buffalo Chemical Fire Extinguisher Company was established in 1895 and it manufactured fire extinguishers and the components for chemical firefighting units. This extinguisher had been tested up to 350 lbs. and is 2 1/2 gallons but it is now empty.With it being made with durable brass and copper material it ensures durability and reliability, making it a valuable addition to any fire safety collection. This fire extinguisher was once used as a practical safety device but now is only used as a decorative item. A wonderful piece to add to your collection.IT HAS SOME WEAR AND TEAR AS SHOWN. IT HAS BEEN CLEANED AND WAXED BUT HAS NOT BEEN LAQUERED SEALED. IT IS GUARANTEED ANTIQUE AND IS BEINGSOLD AS SHOWN. SOME OXIDATION MAY OCCUR BETWEEN WHEN PHOTOS WERE TAKEN AND DELIVERED TO YOU, BUT WILL POLISH NICELY OR BE ALLOWED TO PATINA.IT WAS ORIGINALLY OWNED BY THE BOARD OF EDUCATION – BUFFALO SCHOOL SYSTEM (NOTE “B of E” Stamp on Bottom) and Inspection dates in the 1930’s also embossed.
