Description: Vintage IBM Personal System/2 Portable Computer P70 386, 8573-061 ~ SOLD AS-ISThis eBay listing is for a nice classic find...it's an old school vintage IBM Personal System/2 Model P70 386, Type 8573-061, portable computer system that comes as you see pictured in the listing and noted above from 1989. Serial number is 23-0015395. I believe this is commonly called a suitcase computer because of the size and how it folds up. I want to start out by saying I know very little about vintage computer system. I was able to plug this and it does power up and goes through it's bootup sequence and beeps but the built in monitor is NOT coming on. I moved the little slide knob up and down, which I'm guessing is for brightness) with no results. The monitor also seems to be loose as it comes out a little but and at a slight angle as well but I was afraid to pull on it anymore for fear of breaking it since I don't know if this is what it should be doing or not. It may just be a loose cable behind the monitor, I don't know. The light comes on for the old floppy drive and the lights on the keyboard also work as well. Speaking of the keyboard, it has that vintage CLICKY sound when you press on the keys. While we are talking about the keyboard, please note that it's missing 1 key above the 9. No other testing was done. Because I'm not seeing anything on the monitor and I don't know if it's actually in working order or if it's showing any type of errors while it's booting up, I'm selling this AS-IS, PARTS OR REPAIR ONLY WITH NO RETURNS. The overall size of this classic, when it's all folding up and with the handle in the down position, this computer measures 18.5" across, 12" tall and 5" deep with a weight of 20.3 pounds.
