Description: A somewhat rare vintage Halloween card and unsent condition from approximately 1915 to 1920. It’s one of the many Halloween superstition cards, by Sanders. The superstition goes that on Halloween night you could pull a veggie out of the garden, probably a leftover strange looking carrot like this one and it would resemble your future husband. Or something like that. Seemed like husband hunting was the main Halloween event for post 12 year olds. I’m not sure I’d want to marry someone that look like a mangled carrot but hey it’s a fun idea I guess. In any case if you’re like me and collect Halloween postcards you might have a collection that document Halloween superstitions as I do. This card is a nice addition. Personally I like the cat part of the best. The cats are in all kinds of positions and pretty funny. The condition is very good on this with some minor wear as you can see in the photos. I am listing several Halloween cards this week and several more in a few weeks. We do combine shipping so if you want multiple cards just put them in your cart.
