Settling in Grand Rapids, he worked primarily as a landscape architect. He is best remembered for this painting created in the early 1930s. It references at least 40 different fairy tales and nursery rhymes including Little Red Riding Hood, Jack & The Bean Stalk, Goldilocks, Miss Muffett, Rip Van Winkle, Peter Pan, Jack Sprat, Simple Simon, and much more. In the 1950s, the old man walking with a cane reference was modified from "The Wandering Jew" to "The Wanderer." The image was first licensed to The Child's Wonderland Company of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Rights were eventually transferred to the Hagstrom Map Company About 38" x 26" Will be shipped in a tube.
