Description: ***********The Landeron 248 manual wind movement runs strong and keeps accurate time over an approximate 38 hour power reserve period with all chronograph functions working perfectly as they should. In November 2024 both pushers were removed, cleaned and had their screws and springs replaced. They now press in and depress beautifully. Having said that given that the movement shows no clear signs of ever having been serviced a complete overhaul is long overdue and recommended.***********This seldom seen vintage 1960's Arnex two-register chronograph has a silver satin "FRANCE" signed dial that is in lovely but not perfect condition, showing light signs of age-related wear. The original lume, which remains fully intact and no longer glows after being exposed to bright light, has aged gracefully to a toasted buttermilk hue. The all stainless steel case shows minor wear and oxidation. The outer edge of the case back is stamped "ALL STAINLESS STEEL ANTIMAGNETIC" with "DUSTPROOF" stamped in the center. The inside of the case back is stamped "ANGUENOT FRERES" followed by "FRANCE." The crystal shows light scratching. The 17 jewels unadjusted France "ANGUENOT FRERES" stamped Landeron 248 manual wind movement runs strong and keeps accurate time with all chronograph functions working perfectly as they should. The top pusher starts the sweep seconds hand and the first press of the bottom pusher stops it. With another press of the bottom pusher both the sweep seconds hand and minute register (right subdial) are reset back to precisely zero. This can be seen in pictures 6 and 7, respectively. In November 2024 both pushers were removed, cleaned and had their screws and springs replaced. They now press in and depress beautifully. After recently winding the sharply threaded, non-screwdown crown 34 full revolutions the movement had an approximate 38 hour power reserve. Although the crown winds buttery smooth it turns a bit roughly when setting the time. Given that the movement shows no clear signs of ever having been serviced (there are no visible watchmaker service markings on the inside of the case back or on the movement) a complete overhaul is long overdue and recommended. This watch measures approximately 37 mm excluding the crown, approximately 40 mm including the crown and approximately 18 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the fixed bezel, is approximately 8 mm. Including the crystal thickness measures approximately 10 mm. A complete overhaul is long overdue and recommended. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch. Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old-school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time. Any servicing costs going forward are your responsibility. Please thoroughly read this entire listing and kindly ask any and all questions you may have prior to buying as this sale is final and no refunds of any kind will be given. And please study the 24 high magnification pictures carefully as they are part of the description and serve as an accurate representation of the condition of this watch.Expedited and insured shipping along with signature confirmation will be provided.
