Description: Nice heavy Westinghouse AM/FM tube radio estate find from 1951. The brown marbleized oriental/art deco styled cabinet with gold accents polished up nice and there is a chip & crack on the upper rear (see last pic) that is not visible from the front. Replaced the original power cord that was cracked and showing bare wire with a new cheater cord that fits perfectly. Radio had a very loud hum so replaced the filter caps, selenium rectifier with a safer diode/resister combination and now it plays very loud and clear on both bands. All tubes test strong. We only have 1 remaining local AM station in our area and it picks it up well, along with several local FM stations loud and clear. One really cool feature is the hinged back cover. You just remove 1 screw on the right side and the back swings open wide to easily service tubes, dial light, etc. I wish ALL vintage radios were made like this! Measures approx. 13.5" W x 9" H x 7" D See video demo of this radio playing on YouTube here
