Description: The listing is for a Victorian Triple Plate, silver plate cake stand or centerpiece basket manufactured by the Webster Silver Company in the style of E. G. Webster, 1866 - 1874. The basket is a perfect example of "unrelated ornamentation" or diversity of style which marked the cake basket and centerpieces of the 1870's and 80's. The base features one of the "Mask Patterns". This one the viking or bearded man along with a bird, possibly a stork or crane resting on the base. The center of the basket features an exceptional design of a stag. The basket features a swing handle which will stay in the up position or can be laid flat. Condition: The Basket is in good condition as shown in the pictures. The swing handle is sturdy and there are no monograms or dents. The silver plate is shiny and bright but shows ware on the underside.Size: The basket stands 13.5 inches tall to the top of the handle, 8 inches tall to the top of the rim and measures 10 inches wide.
