Description: DATING TO THE 1880’S FASHIONED OF A BROWN SILK FAILLE WITH A MULTI COLORED STRIPED SILK VELVET AND TAN SILK FAILLE TRIMMING THE FRONT CHEST, DOWN THE BUTTON CLOSURE, AND ON EACH CUFF. BAND COLLAR WITH SELF COVERED COIN BUTTONS CLOSING. GOLDEN COPPER BEADING TRIMS THE VELVET ALL ALONG THE FRONT WITH BEADED APPLIQUES WITH DANGLING FRINGE TRIMMING AROUND THE SIDES AND BUSTLE REAR. INTERIOR LINED IN A CHECK COTTON WITH FRENCH SEAMS AND AN UNMARKED PETERSHAM. FABRIC ENCASED PADDING IS SEEN UNDER THE ARMS, ROUNDING TO THE FRONT CHEST. SKIRTING IS IN MATCHING FABRIC AND FALLS IN FULL VOLUME. THE LACE BLOUSE WITH WHICH IT IS PICTURED IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE SALE. CONDITION: I SUSPECT THAT THIS PIECE MIGHT HAVE HAD A SLIGHTLY LONGER UNDER SKIRT THAT WAS NOT ACQUIRED WITH THIS PIECE. NOTE THE SIZING.
