Full DescriptionThe coin was minted in 2007, to commemorate the abolition of the trade slave in 1807 Designed by David Gentleman, the coin features a simple yet powerful design depicting a broken link in the "chains of oppression". which doubles as a zero in the Anniversary date, 1807. The broken chain link is surrounded by the inscription "An Act for the Abolition of the Slave Trade" and the date "2007"The edge engraving poignantly reads - "Am i not man and a brother".
