Gilt titles to spine with stamped bands. Leather moderately chafed to front hinge with some rubbing to corners. Leather slightly cracked to spine, but remains nonetheless supple with minimal fading. Titles are unflaked, and marbled boards show brightly with no stains or abrasions. Interior is immaculate--pages are bright, crisp, and unsoiled with tight binding and sound hinges. Covarrubias's illustrations present strikingly, remaining crisp and free of tarnish. Volume includes slipcase as issued; however, slipcase is missing top and bottom panels. Surfaces are quite clean, and remaining panels are holding. Limited Editions Club #1427/1500 hand numbered and signed to rear in ink by Covarrubias. A handsome copy overall.
