T. intermedia is a species of Mexico. It’s common name, the clothesline Tillandsia, refers to its growth habit. It has a similar growing habit as Spanish moss, Tillandsia usneoides, only on a much larger scale. T. intermedia forms basal pups( off shoots) from the base of the plant and pups from the inflorescence, which eventually causes the mass to cascade downwards. epiphytic filtered sun/ dappled sun likes humidity, regular irrigation but MUST drain and dry quicklyAs a strictly epiphytic Tillandsia, it can not have be soggy. It can be grown outdoors in locations that do not freeze. Acceptable light requirements range from light shade, filtered sun, filtered midday sun, direct early morning or late afternoon sun.
