Text and illustrations are clear and unannotated. Binding is tight. A few small, faint smudges on occasional page edges and margins, commensurate with general handling and reading use. Gilt edging is bright but scuffed. Buyers please note:- Occasional foxing, mainly on preliminaries, end pages, and around some edges and margins. Some printed pages are foxed but this does not affect readability.- Front hinge is slightly cracked (see photographs). Binding remains tight, with all pages attached and intact. Covers: Acceptable. Stable. Text and illustrations are clear on front, with some light rubbing. Spine titles and decorations have rubbed and faded. Cloth surfaces and edges are lightly soiled, commensurate with general handling and reading use. A few small scuffs on the surfaces. Corners and spine ends are bumped and rubbed.
