The Ferro rod is a great quality rod, made softer so it throws more sparks, and the included striker/bottle opener gets the job done very well. The included knife also does well to strike the Ferro rod with, as well as a traditional flint and steel style of striking, if you remove some of the paint. The wire saw is adequate for cutting down small trees, so long as you know how to use one. I made a few fires using the fat wood, but only as dust, I don't like to use an entire stick to start a fire. The twine was a good starter but I think it would be a better idea to add more wax to it so that it burns longer. I love the product overall and would recommend to anyone trying to learn more about fat wood, the process of lighting fires with it, and how to process it.
