The plate is NOT SIGNED and HAND NUMBERED in GOLD like the other 2 plates that I have listed - This is an ERROR PLATE that somehow managed to reach a private collector. These Superman plates were produced by Neverending Battle, Inc. back in 1988. Neverending Battle, Inc. was a non-profit organization formed to honor Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster during Cleveland's celebration of Superman's 50th birthday, The International Superman Exposition held June 16-19, 1988. 15,000 sets of these plates were scheduled. But, only about 300 sets were actually produced just before Neverending Battle, Inc. went bankrupt. NOTE: In an unfriendly email received from (Mike) the gentleman who licensed and produced these plates, we received this information: I have no idea how you came into possession of this plate. All damaged plates were destroyed at our factory. Any plate not passing my final inspection when they arrived were not signed and were smashed by me prior to being deposited by me in our company dumpster. He was adimant about the fact that this is probably the only surviving ERROR PLATE IN EXISTENCE. Well, we all know what that means - THE ONLY ONE!!! So, yes, I do want a lot of money for it. The lucky buyer will also receive copies of the unfriendly, yet very informative emails along with the plate. THIS PLATE IS POSSIBLY A "1 OF A KIND" PLATE!! THE RAREST SUPERMAN PLATE EVER!!!! Complete with the original Box that has some light wear from storage, plus a small crease and a 5"-6" edge split on the box top, see photos. These do not come up for sale often.
