Description: Maker and age: It's indisputable: Limoges says quality. The region produced some of the world's finest and most beautiful porcelain. On the reverse of this beautiful Limoges cabinet bowl are two marks. The first is the red overglaze mark number 1 of Blakeman & Henderson Limoges. This mark was in use in the early 1900s. A small green backstamp with the words "Limoges France" around a green star with the word Limoges also appears: this is the white ware mark number 3 of Coiffe, the factory that produced the porcelain. This mark was in use between 1891 and 1914, making that year the latest the bowl could have been produced. Source: Third Edition of the Collector's Encyclopedia of Limoges Porcelain by Mary Frank Gaston. Design: The lovely scalloped pale green and white cabinet bowl features a band of delightful pink roses surrounded by a rich gold trim. Size: The bowl is 9 1/2 inches wide and 1 7/8 inches deep. Condition: It is in excellent condition with no cracks, nicks, stains, scratches, repairs or crazing. There is a tiny chip on the underside of the edge - it's shown in the photo with the penny. It is not visible from above and the bowl would display beautifully. Please check all the photos very carefully - they are an important part of the description.
