States Of Matter Solids, Liquids, & Gases Poster & Activity Set Laminated New!

Description: This science poster and activity set, with a focus on states of matter, is awesome! It is brand new and in excellent condition! I laminated the pages for durability and so they can be written on with a fine-tip dry erase marker and then wiped clean with a cloth or tissue, so they can be reused. This set comes from a smoke free home. I received this set at a Title I workshop for teachers when I was teaching summer school with a science theme. Three of the sheets were simply black and white, so I colored in the images, with colored pencils, to make them more inviting to children. This item consists of the following 3 smaller sets: 3 "States of Matter" horizontal posters that measure 8.5" x 11", 4 "Density/States of Matter" bug and cookies activity sheets that measure 8.5" x 11", and 3 "All About . . ." coloring sheets that measure 8.5" x 11". Each of the posters has a colored border and is titled with a different state of matter in bold, colored letters. Each also has a microscopic view of the state of matter, that shows the density of particles, in the upper, right-hand corner. Underneath the title is a box with 3 "bullets". Each "bullet" consists of a pair of characteristics of the state of matter. The first characteristic, in each pair, is printed in black. The second is printed in a color that matches the border of the poster. Information on characteristics is consistent across posters. For example, the first bulleted item pertains to shape, volume, and particle space/movement. The second pertains to compression and amount of space between particles. And, the last pertains to flow and particle movement. At the bottom of each poster, there are colored illustrations of real-life objects that represent that particular state of matter. The "All About . . ." coloring pages each have an illustration of a girl with a beaker of molecules in the upper, left-hand corner. Each sheet has a bold, black title. Below the title are 3 "bullets" that again pertain to characteristics of the state of matter. Like the posters, the information is consistent across the exercise sheets. For example, the first characteristic pertains to shape. The second talks about molecule density. And, the 3rd pertains to volume. Below the characteristics are directions to complete the coloring activity. Children are asked to color in the images that are examples of real-life solids, liquids, or gases. The "Density" bug and cookie activity set is illustrated with a colorful, cute, big-eyed insect holding a cookie decorated with multicolored mini m & m's and light blue cookie jars with fabric lids that are pink with white daisies. The header sheet is titled with "Density" in pink lettering. Beneath that are the 3 states of matter, in black text. Each has a cookie jar below it that is filled with cookies to represent the molecules in that particular state of matter. The bug has a speech balloon, with pink text, that explains to children the level of molecules in each state of matter. The 3 activity sheets, that go with the header, also have bugs with speech balloons. The pink text is patterned, which makes it easier for children to read independently. The state of matter is printed in black. Children are asked to fill in the cookie jars, with mini cookies, to represent the density of a particular state of matter. Because these sheets are laminated, children can also draw the cookies with a fine-tip dry erase marker. This set would make a wonderful addition to a primary classroom! It would also be great to have in a household with young children! I am hoping to find it a good home.
