Description: The thing that sets our bowls apart is the FINISH. It's not a "dull wood" finish. We have a special bees wax aging finish that we apply to all of our bowls. It takes an already distressed bowl and makes it look OLD and WARM and very primitive. And it STAYS that way for the life of the bowl. It is smooth to the touch and it is beautiful. THIS bowl is going to go to someone who wants a REALLY rustic bowl. We did it in a little darker finish before waxing and buffing it. You can see where the wood is old and wavy and then partially healed over in the darker areas on the bottom. And of course, Rick just carved the bowl right around it. EACH of our hand hewn bowls are Unique. No Two are ever alike. This is hand carved dough bowl number 2961. You will see carving marks in the wood. Rick simply distresses and waxes and seals them in to blend beautifully with the surrounding patina. And BECAUSE of the distressing/waxing process that we are put these through, they are NOT suitable for rolling dough or keeping raw foods in. Measures 20 1/4 inches long, 5 5/8 inches wide, 1 3/4" tall (remember, it's a HAND carved piece) and weighs just over TWO Pounds. Rick did this one in a dark distressed finish. The bowl you SEE is the EXACT one that you will RECEIVE.
