Description: For your consideration, Dr4 Watches has on offer a really cool, classic and very, very rare 40mm Shellman Grand Complication. The reference is a classic quatz chronograph with stainless steel over a stunning, interesting multi-dimensional dial and the expensive full-sized link bracelet. This very cool timepiece has the rarest and the coolest and the most desireable dial set-up of the Shellman Grand Complication (or "Shellman GC") references. It sports beautiful quatro-subregisters and a killer stainless bracelet on a deployant clasp. All of this combined in an excellent overall visual package and includes original boxing and recent (2023) service papers. A couple of interesting things to note about this particular model. This one is ready for a variety of duties and for good reason is one of the most popular and sought after Shellman models ever produced in terms of market demand and collectibility in particular. In fact, when it was introduced it was admitted into the horologically relevant, International Watch Museum in La Chaux de Fonds, Switzerland. While at that museum, it garnered its own exhibition at a permanent place. As the Swiss and French like to say, "Incroyable!" As such, these Shellman repeater quartz references are credited with starting a much larger and pronounced appreciation for Japanese movement and watch making at a serious, refined, level. Open up another tab to check out the other fine timepieces on offer and you will see Dr4 is bringing the best value on the internet because we tirelessly source our inventory and inspect very closely upon receipt for quality and authenticity. We are extremely thorough in our listings and we still absolutely encourage questions regarding the timepieces --- specifications, provenance, history, etc.. Just ask if you have a question! We only deal in 100% real watches because reputation is critical for us and in this industry in particular. We always have the inventory in our possession. We do not do the broker thing. The condition of this watch is as follows: Pre-owned in Excellent condition. Because we only want timepiece customers who are delighted with their purchase, we strive to add some additional insight to help you make a great timepiece decision. With that in mind, some additional considerations about this watch are... 1. This watch is a classicly sized at 40mm. I can recommend this watch for anybody with a wrist of 6.5 inches and larger. As such, this is a classic and wonderful unisex fine timepiece. The watch fits me well and I have a 7+1/4 inch wrist. That is measuring my wrist with a soft fabric tape measurer and it is snug (no wiggle) on my wrist. There are no additional links so if your wrist is larger than 7+1/4 inches then you would have to put this on a strap or find additional links. And if your wrist is 7+1/4 inches then this will be quite snug. So, I would recommend you check and double-check your wrist size and if it is 7+1/8" in circumference or smaller then this will work very well. 2. The dial, case and lugs-to-bracelet are particularly outstanding and gives the watch a slightly vintage, classic, heritage, world traveler and kind of purposeful sporty esthetic. Of course, with the link bracelet it brings a retro luxury sporting vibe that looks at home near the water or in the air. I envision this watch being for a pilot or successful business person who has impecable styling and wants a complex, interesting, wrist instrument for work and play. 3. The solid caseback and sound resonating openings speaks to the serious complications nature of this one. No need to worry if you around some water, washing your hands, etc. but this is not a dive watch and other watches should be your calling if you plan to swim with a watch or take a plunge under water. 4. Great and accurate chronograph with the "start/stop" and "reset" pushers. Note that you also push the "start" pusher to stop the chonograph, then you read the time or information. Perfect for interval timing... the length of the business meeting, a race-car lap time or the duration it takes the barrista to make a proper cappuchino. The watch is keeping time within great timekeeping standards (+ or - 5 seconds a day). My understanding is that Shellman uses high-end Citizen movements (e.g., similar to those used in the Campagnola premium Citizen line). 5. The casework and bracelet finishing is quite nice and is upscale --- sporting a wonderful, elegant sheen. It elevates above being merely a "tool watch" with this finishing quality. 6. Let's not bury the lead here: The stand-out for this particular reference is the exceptionally interesting dial and complications. A do everything --- literally everything --- complex and interesting timepiece. You have day, date, month and leap year references as this is a perpetual calendar quartz timepiece. You have a wonderful moon phase which is a thing of beauty. And then via a mode switch and pusher activation you have a repeater complication. The watch will chime the time for you using a combination of single chimes and other chimes to audibly let you know what time it is. There are two ways to use this repeater function. First, you can sync it to the time on the dial to give you an audible reading. You can also set the repeater (audible) time to another time zone so in that way it acts as a GMT function. No matter how you cut it, it is entertaining for all and very useful for sight-challenged individuals. A wonderful, rare and typically very, very expensive complication. 7. A nice original box and service papers round out this listing. Finding one of these, with a bracelet and recent servicing, is like catching a unicorn. Score this one if you know and appreciate the collectibility of high-end Shellman Grand Complication timepieces. This one was serviced a few months ago in mid-2023! We do not offer returns or a warranty but will work with you to make any post-purchase repairs at our cost (with no profit for us but paid for by you). Everything we sell is working fine for all functions when it leaves our facility (or more specifically the safe deposit box where our watches reside). In some cases, we can go back to our source and get the watch repaired for free based on our relationship and reputation. We should always be the first port-of-call if there is an issue. 100% delighted customers so far and we aim to keep it that way. Please examine the pictures, what you see is what you get. The only exceptions are the black case that we photo some watches on and the English Bull Dog which we put in our group shots because we think it looks great. The Bull Dog is a James Bond tie-in and we kind of really like James Bond. And finally, we are an Atlanta based business but we also operate out of North Florida (some inventory in both places) as I like to include my brother in the business some. Thank you for your consideration, Steve
