Description: A great find. Four working, refurbished vintage Mattel Talking Barbie Dolls from circa 1967, gathered from multiple original homes. Some have original parts, but others needed leg transplants. These dolls all talk well with some care, but have some specific quirks. I’ve refurbished a great very many of these dolls, and almost all of them will have similar quirks after refurbishing. Video demonstrates this somewhat. Specifics: Barbie - Mexico body and head. Face is slightly pale/yellower than body. Has most of her eyelashes and original face paint. Hair is Brownette color and very full. Pink bows have been added and secured with glue. Neck has a slight chunk cut out of it on the left side. However, her talking mechanism is the best of the bunch. Pull it straight out, and let it go to hear Barbie speak all of her original phrases. She may occasionally warble, but just have patience and she’ll clear up again. Swimsuit is missing the elastic in the back. Legs and arms move well with a gentle touch. Knees click! Left leg has a tendency to come off. May need further reinforcement. Ken - Mexico body and head. Head is squishy, not hard, and still maintains a general pinkish peach color. Legs and arms move well. Body is great. Legs and arms move well with a gentle touch. Knees click! Talking mechanism works, but warbles and needs some attention. Pull the cord all the way out and Ken will speak - eventually. He pauses and sometimes needs a little pat on the back to say what’s on his mind. He may warble. Swimsuit top and bottoms are in great condition, just have some threads gathered inside. Stacey -Hong Kong body and head. Stacey has some of her original eyelashes and her copper hair is somewhat thinning. A green bow has been added and secured. Face paint looks great. Her swimsuit top has had a white thread added to secure it in place. Not elastic! Legs and arms move well with a gentle touch. Knees click! Talking mechanism works, but warbles and needs some manual attention. Pull the cord and as you ease it back in gently, Stacey will utter her phrases with her unique British accent! She may occasionally warble, but just have patience and she’ll clear up again. PJ -Mexico body and head. PJ’s got her original bubble sunglasses attached to her head. No seed beads, but you can add your own! Legs and arms move well with a gentle touch. Knees click! Left leg bowed slightly inward. Floral print dress has original snaps, and panties included. Shoes not original, but pink pilgrims! Talking mechanism works, but warbles and needs some manual attention. Pull the cord and as you ease it back in gently, PJ will utter her phrases with her Valley Girl vibes! She may occasionally warble, but just have patience and she’ll clear up again. Great set of dolls for the mod Barbie era collector!
