Description: Up for sale is a fantastic, Sandu Liberman Artists Proof Lithograph. It is signed in pencil in the bottom right hand corner. Sandu Liberman was born in Yasi, Rumania in 1923. He took part in state shows in Bucharest. in 1952 he was awarded the gold medal at the International Art Festival in Rumania. that same year he was commisioned to illustrate the large encylopedia Rumania, and was appointed Official Portrait Artist of Rumania. He went to Israel in 1962 and settled there. Liberman was commisioned by the Government of Israel to make portraits on many occasions. in 1965 he was commisioned by the Government of Israel to make a portrait of the President of Guinea and it hangs in the Royal Palace. Sandu Liberman died in 1977. It is professionally matted and framed in a black & gold wooden frame that measures approximately 26 1/2" x 32 1/2". There are some scratches, and nicks and chips on the frame. It is wired on the back and ready to hang! The proof itself is approximately 18" x 24", including the border area. Overall, it is in Very Good Condition. There are a few dings in the border of the paper, but other than that, I do not see any major issues with it, although, it has not been examined outside of the frame.
