Description: Bidding on 2 Vintage, early 1900's version of The Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam, translated by Edward Fitzgerald. The larger one has no copyright date, but is published by Barse & Hopkins, which dates it between 1909 and 1928. It has a suede cover that is fraying and edgeworn. The embossing still looks good. Inside the back of the suede is separating from the pastedown in the front and the back. First page is loose from the binding. Small piece of tissue paper between the translator's image and the title page (still intact, although the outline of the profile was traced in pencil). The smaller one has a copyright date of 1905 and is published by Dodge Publishing Company. Based on the address and other info found online, it might have been printed in 1907 or later. It just states 'The Rubaiyat' on the front and the embossing is somewhat faded. Pastedowns are broken from the suede but still connected. Four pages, including the title page, are separated from the binding. Name written on first page in pencil. I have not attempted to erase as I'm trying to minimize handling. More pics available on request. Will ship by media mail.
