It depicts an idealized young maiden with whiplash hair surrounded by luscious poppy pods and blooms with raised gilt highlights. The florals are detailed with a raised blue and white enamel surrounding the lower section and wrapping around the base in both directions to occupy the reverse in large naturalistic flowers and leaves. This central decoration is segregated by a distinctive undecorated border which sets it apart from the colorful and cloud-like pink and brown enamel background that shimmers with a subtle gold. The swirling enamels and free flowing blooms match the woman’s wild hair and add a buoyancy and dreamlike nature to her gaze. Both the rim and foot are finished with a thick band of gold over blue. The ground is a celadon-grey which acts as a decorative neutral from which Markings: impressed on base, ‘12’, ‘473’, red RSK Amphora backstamp, Made in Austria Condition: Excellent For Accuracy: an antique vase it may show expected light signs of age and use related wear. The gilt is perfect and the enamel is superb – a stunning piece. Guarantee All items are 100% Authentic. We carry no reproductions.
