Bush Sr had beaten Reagan in the Iowa straw poll earlier, and the Reagan campaign was panicked. The call went out for any volunteers who could; get up to New Hampshire & help out! Highlights besides door knocking in freezing weather (New Hampshire folks are WONDERFUL!); hanging out with Harvard students (I was accepted to Berkeley in the Fall, so that was really special), having a few moments chat w/JFK Jr, as he waited for Uncle Ted's campaign bus to come and get him at a diner, attending the "I paid for this microphone!" debate at Nashua High School, and picking the correct side door at the Holiday Inn to hang out before Reagan arrived at the very late victory party. The early newspapers had already been delivered, and Ronnie signed mine as I welcomed him as "Mr. President!" to our REAGAN FOR PRESIDENT rally! $-$-$-$-$-$-$-$-$-$-$-$-$-$-$-$-$-$-$-$-$-$-$-$-$-$ While I AM in a dealing mood, feel free to make an offer; but keep in mind that someone else can scoop it up while we are dickering over price!
