Description: Up for bid is a wonderful limited edition offset lithograph print by the acclaimed American artist ROBERT GOBER. This print was created in 1991 and published by Printed Matter, NYC as part of a series of works that were based on the concept of a common "ex libris" book plate. Other participating artists included Larry Clark, Francesco Clemente, Eric Fischl, Jenny Holzer, Claes Oldenburg, Faith Ringgold, and Nancy Spero. The Robert Gober contribution was printed by Abrams Gieber Warhover Lithographers Inc. (NYC), on an archival sheet of buff colored woven paper. The design is an actual facsimile of a full scale newspaper article the artist clipped from the New York Times (Feb.16,1991), about a baby boy who had been left in a Brooklyn trash can. This sly little print is in mint condition, and measures approximately 5" x 3". The irregular cut on the top margin is as issued. The edition size was 100 archival boxes, each containing 250 bookplate prints (249 unsigned copies and an identical signed and numbered copy). This auction is for one single unsigned copy. The signed and numbered copy is not available. All US locations will be safely shipped via USPS 1st Class. All foreign locations will ship via eBay International standard delivery.
