Description: A late 18th century Paris France 18k-750 gold bound composition trinket /snuff box. The top decorated with a hand painted courting scene. A gentleman, lady, and her maiden. Crushed fish scales, a binder, and pigment of ones choice formed a composite material that was then lacquered. The lid decoration seems to be a very fine reverse glass painted scene (not signed) that I can see. The gold is not marked. There are markings on the base rim that I photographed. The condition is good. The lid fits loosely, not tight. There is an overall craqueler surface on the composition due to age. The center medallion does not show any cracks. The interior shell shows no cracking or chips. The gold is all intact, with very minor dings and scratches. Measures: 2.5" wide and 1.25" high. A BEAUTIFUL PIECE. FREE SHIPPING !!!!!!
