Description: Rare late 19th century silvered-brass-mounted oak mantel clock with moonphase indication in the gothic taste Planchon, du Palais Royal, Paris, The case surmounted by a traditional bell over four canted angles, each with a quatrefoil cross and running down the case to terminate in bi-scrolled feet, the sides set with four panels of green bulls eye glass, the brass chapter ring with early style Roman numerals and a pair of tooled steel hands around a sun-burst centre, set above the moon phase with rolling painted moon and single hand to read the moons age against a gothic scale, the signed and numbered rectangular movement with outside countwheel strike on a coiled gong set to the inside rear of the case and with connecting lever to operate the moonphase disc. Good overall original condition working mechanism 53.5cm high
