Residents of the United States in person pick up available following payment.About the luthier: GYORGY TANCZER (1855-1922) a pupil of the legendary Samuel Nemessányi started his own business in Budapest in 1882 and dealt mainly with repairs. Because of that Tanczer MADE VERY FEW VIOLINS BEARING HIS LABEL. His craft imitates Stradivari and Joseph Guarneri del Gesu patterns and uses a yellowish red/amber varnish. He introduced an improvement to the bass bar that is said to have proven itself. Around 1899 he was based in Debrecen and worked mainly for the Stowasser company of Budapest. This violin is of a PROFESSIONAL LEVEL. It has a deep and rich tone in the low register paired with a very bright and sweet tone in the upper range.
