Description: RARE CIRCA 1855 LONDON UK SYDENHAM CRYSTAL PALACE STEREOVIEW - CRYSTAL FOUNTAIN Produced by: UnmarkedRare circa 1855 stereoview of the interior of the Sydenham Crystal Palace located near London, UK. Stereoview measures 3-5/16" tall by 6-11/16" wide and depicts the transept of the Crystal Palace with Osler's Crystal Fountain in the foreground. The original Crystal Palace was constructed for the 1851 Great Exhibition / World's Fair in London's Hyde Park. The iron and glass structure was dismantled in 1852 and an enlarged version re-erected in 1854 in Sydenham where it stood as a popular tourist attraction until destroyed by fire in 1936.
