Description: This listing is for a RARE Antique Hand Etched Glass Vase or Bottle C. 1870. It is clear glass, decorated with applied Blue & frosted White neoclassical patterns, as well as 3 unusual “window” images on the sides. The patterns are intricate and of many designs, there are aesthetic stripes, a grecian inspired pattern, stars & moons, and a delicate french or Italian esque one around the bottom area. One is a name -“Mollie”- the other two depict intricately hand etched scenes of buildings & their grounds along with a brief description. One reads “Schlols in Baden”, and depicts an impressive building with many windows and towers that are topped by bulbous crowns. The other is labeled “Connerlations (or Converlations) Saal”, and shows an equally impressive building with massive supporting columns put in to scale by a long row of trees that are dwarfed by the building behind them. I am unsure the origins of this piece, nor its makers. Perhaps it was a vase, for perfume, or some other kind of bottle. I have seen one similar, albeit plainer, bottle claiming to be bohemian, but this seems more German. Its only marking is a small hand painted number or letter in blue on the bottom. It was sourced from a large Pennsylvania Glass Collectors Estate, and the provenance has been lost to time. It is an excellent rare piece for collectors, gifting, display / decor, and more! It is in good antique condition. It has some light wear, as is common, but no major damage. No cracks or large chips. One chip on the inner lip, easily missed, and some wear to the coloration which is usual. No heavy bald spots or illegible areas.
