Description: Postcard - a WOOD POSTCARD made for the 1915 Panama Pacific International Exposition held in San Francisco, CA. An advertising type postcard for TRANSFER BRAND Red Cedal Shingles made by The Transfer Lumber & Shingle Co., N. Tonawanda, N.Y. & East Chicago, Ind. The postcard was mailed and still has the postage stamp attached. The postmark is difficult to read, but likely from 1915. There is information on both sides including that This Shingle was cut on a "SUMNER" At The Exposition. Click onto the ebay photos to enlarge and view both sides in detail. Very fine / excellent condition, the postcard in the shape of a shingle is thicker at one end and tapers off at the other end. Provenance: from the Warren Lloyd Plumer collection.
