Description: Offered is this vintage edition of the book, "Plain Tales from the Hills", written by Rudyard Kipling and published in Garden City, New York by Doubleday, Doran & Co. in 1928. The front of the red leather cover is decorated with a gold elephant head and a pre-Nazi swastika-like mark, an Indian symbol often used with Kipling's works. The book is approx. 7 1/8" x 4 3/4" and contains 320 pages. The book is in good to very good condition. The red leather cover has some wear but the gold words and pictures are still bright. There is some minor scuffing, some wear at the top and bottom of the spine and a slight wrinkling to both front and back. There is just beginning to be a separation of the top layer of leather along the top edge of the front cover and the corners are turned in and slightly worn. There is no cracking inside either the front or the back and the dark red endpapers still look good. I see no missing or torn pages, all are well attached to the binding and all are clean and clear, although starting to yellow. Most of the original gold edging along the top is still intact. I see no writing in the book. I have a lot of experience with vintage and antique books but am not an expert so please let me know if my description is missing information and you have additional questions. I will do my best to answer them! Please take a moment to look at the other items in my eBay store!
