Description: Nice French Antique Black Marble Striking Mantle ClockVery well made French striking mantle clock by 'Marti' from c1900. It strikes on the gong once at half past the hour, then two at two three at three etc. The left spring is slipping and may need replacing while the right is good and fully wound. The nice old clock is ticking away a little and has an enamel chapter ring and there is a hairline crack between 7-8. The hands are original while the bezel has nice thick bevelled glass in it. The classic case has two pillars which maybe are brass? There is also a panel with cherubs at the top. The main body is black marble or slate? with the usual edging nibbles along with two chips on the back edge. I would say the case is mostly in good shape. Both the pendulum and key are included with this clock which measures 10.5in tall x 8in wide x 6in deep. Although ticking a little it is sold as a Full restoration piece only.
