Description: This very quaint set of 2, buiding and a complement piece, belongs to a mega collector of everything Department 56 and past San Diego Department 56 chapter president. She owns thousands of pieces in 6 different villages and could not possibly display everything. It is dearly time to downsize! Many have never been displayed or only displayed one time. I have hundreds of pieces yet to list! This is the lovely and brightly colored "Dorothy's Skate Rental #55515" house. It was released in 1999 and retired in 2002. It was of course named after America's sweetheart Olympic Gold Medal winner Dorothy Hamill. This is an early release which was limited to only two stores. It has never been displayed, in fact it is still in its original manufacturer's cellophane wrapping and has been stored away for decades. Though it is very intricate with delicate columns and fencing around the little bungalow house, and includes a pair of hanging skates, it is in perfect condition, free from all blemishes (even the light cord is untouched), in its original box, and in perfect working order. I did not disturb the original cord, I have an extra light cord I used to show you the illumination. There is some minor shelf wear to the building box. I paired the bungalow with the complementary piece "Skating Pond #6545-5" which also has never been displayed. They are many skating ponds in the Department 56 line-up, but this one is on a perfect scale with Dorothy's Skate Rental. There is also some minor shelf wear to the box. As you know all of these pieces are hand painted. I took several pictures so you can rest assured these pieces are in wonderful gift giving condition. 2 individual boxed pieces total. Comes from a smoke and pet free environment. What a wonderful opportunity to own a rare collectible that will only increase in value! Purchase with confidence!
