Description: Maker and age: On the reverse of this exquisite dinner plate are two marks: a green "Limoges France" white ware mark and the green overglaze decorator's mark number 14 of T&V, or Tressemann and Vogt Limoges. This rare mark was in use from 1907 to 1919. The white ware mark, used by an unknown company, dates production of the porcelain to sometime after 1891. Source: third edition of the Collector's Encyclopedia of Limoges Porcelain by Mary Frank Gaston. T&V Limoges - Tressemann and Vogt – was a major manufacturer in Limoges at the turn of the last century, producing some of the world's finest and most beautiful porcelain. Design: In keeping with the exceptionally high quality that made the company's porcelain so famous, and so coveted, the plate is beautifully hand painted with bursts of finely detailed multicolored flowers and green leaves. A cream colored band is separated from the center with an elegant cobalt blue and gold band. Condition and size: The 10 3/8 inch plate is in excellent condition with no nicks, chips, cracks, stains, repairs, scratches or crazing. Please check all the photos very carefully - they are an important part of the description.
