Cale with help from an All-Star cast including Leon Russell, Russ Kunkel, Carol Kaye, Tommy Tedesco, Kenneth Buttrey, Tommy Cogbill, David Briggs, Bobby Emmons, Reggie Young, Michael Rhodes, Jim Keltner, Emory Gordy, James Burton, Larry Bell, Bill Boatman, Hal Blaine, Billy Payne, Karl Himmel and more. On the Orange “Saturn and Moon" Shelter labels and in the Original Cover with NO Cutouts, promo markings or Barcode. This is a Pinckneyville First Pressing as indicated by the Runout Vinyl / Matrix markings that read: Matrix / Runout (Runout both sides, Stamped): ◈-P-◈ MASTERED BY CAPITOL Matrix / Runout (Runout A, Etched): MCA-2441 CR-4 WallyMatrix / Runout (Runout B, Etched): MCA-2442 CR3 Wally CONDITION The Sleeve is in nice shape. There is some fairly slight shelf wear, edge creasing and corner softening/wear. Super solid with no splits, stains, tears, cutouts, writing, etc. and would rate at least VG. The Vinyl is in clean Glossy condition looking pretty lightly played. There are some light scuffs, marks and faint hairlines, no actual scratches i.e. something you can feel with a fingernail. VG visually but plays more or less perfectly with maybe just a couple spots of faint groove noise that might well be improved with a better cleaning than I can give with my Discwasher brush. The Labels show a couple faint spindle trails but are otherwise Near Mint. If I provide Play Grades it is done as a courtesy but I only guarantee the Visual Grade. If you are not familiar with this grading system (or even if you think you are!), please check it out before bidding. I have summarized the important (i.e. I think everyone knows what Mint means) points below in Goldmine's words: Very Good Plus (VG+): Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK. Very Good (VG): Surface noise will be evident upon playing,... Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as will light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound. I stand by my grades but would like us to be on the same page so no problems arise. I have been selling Vintage Vinyl for over twenty years on the net and I can count the returns I've had on one hand so I believe my grading is fair and accurate. One important note, I try to grade to these Goldmine guides as best as I can understand and apply them. This gives us both a written standard to go by rather than having to guess. But.... it also means that I don't issue refunds over differences of opinion in grading i.e. "That's not MY idea of a VG record!" - I don't know what your standards are and, as such, can't grade to them.
