Description: This is a new, unused plane that I have set up for you. Planes directly from the maker still need to be refined before use. The blade was lapped flat which is the most important step for a razor sharp blade. I hand sharpened it to 6000 grit and coated it with Japanese style camellia oil. It will pass the paper cut and shave test. The chip breaker was corrected for a proper fit, lapped flat and the bevel was corrected to the proper 60/20 angles. I tested it and it leaves a very smooth finish that will resist water and dirt. Just tap the blade into place and you are good to go. Depending on how you intend to use it, you may want to readjust the sole of the dai. I have set it the way I like it. Note that it comes with a blade keeper.
