Description: This US Model 1873 Trapdoor Springfield Bayonet is the real deal. This piece is all original and in wonderful condition, making it a fine addition to a collection. Or the perfect complement to someone needing a bayonet for their rifle to complete the look. There aren't very many markings on the bayonet itself other than the "US" marking towards the socket end. However, the frog is marked "Rock Island Arsenal" These bayonets are becoming rarer and rarer to find in this condition without breaking into a museum, which I do not recommend doing with your bayonet-less 1873 trapdoor.
