Launched as BURGEMEESTER DEN TEX in 1883. She was built for the NV Stoomvaar MIJ< Nederland Line. Sold to Transports Maritimes in 1903 and renamed ILE DE FRANCE. She was a 3,488 GT ship with dimensions of 350'x39'. Single-screw, compound engines, two masts and one funnel. Mainly used as a cruising liner.
