Description: Please take the time to read through my entire item description and view all the photographs. I consistently prepare accurate and detailed descriptions and provide clear close up photographs for all my listings. The aforementioned notwithstanding, note the photos and video when appropriate are still the biggest and most important part of this or any description. As the old saying goes, "a picture is worth a thousand words". If you would like additional photos or have specific questions just message me and I will respond ASAP. First and foremost, let me begin with a personal disclaimer, I am NOT a motor-head or mechanically inclined in any way, shape or form. Unfortunately that makes me depended upon (and at their mercy) the experience of professional mechanics to diagnose, explain and properly repair all my concerns when it comes to anything related to my old automobiles. To that end, I DO NOT know and/or understand any specifics about this ignition coil other than I had it installed only days prior to it being removed from my operating 1971 Chevrolet C-10 350ci V-8 engine’s distributor before the truck was dropped off at the shop to have the engine rebuilt. At the time, the mechanic talked me into having an HEI distributor installed on the rebuilt motor. To that end, I was left with this barely used (less than a week) ignition coil that I know was in working order before I had the engine overhauled. For your consideration is this standard GM style NAPA Echlin ignition coil part #IC29 in the original factory box along with the center coil wire rubber boot and factory hardware. Also included in the listing is a genuine vintage OEM factory mounting bracket for the coil along with the side condenser bracket that was on the engine prior to the rebuild. For your reference and further consideration, this coil and bracket was installed on my 1971 Chevrolet C-10 pickup trucks V-8 350ci 250hp 4-barrel carburetor engine. What I know, and can factually relay about this ignition coil and bracket is, I recently saved the pieces after removing them from the working engine prior to having my truck restored and its motor rebuilt. To that end, this ignition coil and bracket were removed and safely set aside in my climate controlled garage since being removed. At the time, since the ignition coil was barely used (less than a week) and functioning properly, I thought the pieces were worth saving for someone else to install on their vintage vehicle. Please refer to the description photos to confirm the current physical condition of both the ignition coil and coil bracket I describe. As can be verified in the description photos, the ignition coil remains in very clean condition with a few scattered surface scratches to the black paint around the bottom of the cylinder coil where the metal surface rubbed against the bracket when it was installed and later removed. I am certain, if the new owner so desired; they could easily mitigate the noted minor surface scratches with a thin application of a little black spray paint. Refer to description photos #1, #2, #3, #4 and #8 to confirm the noted surface scratches and photos #17, #18, #19, #20, #21 and #22 to verify the weight and dimensions of the coil and for more details about what I have described. The original ignition coil mounting bracket is genuine vintage Chevrolet OEM and remains in very good condition for being 55 years old. The bracket also has the original smaller side condenser bracket attached. Additionally, the bracket also has a brand new clamp bolt that was purchased and installed when the coil was recently replaced. The bracket’s metal surface is exactly as it was when I removed it from my engine. The bracket’s metal surface has acquired minor blemishes, light grime and surface wear from honest age and use over the decades but nothing you wouldn’t expect to see or find on a genuine vintage part like this. There is NO RUST and, if the new owner so desired, could easily clean or polish the metal. Refer to description photos #11, #12, #13, #14, #15 and #16 to confirm the condition of the bracket and for more details about what I have described. The ignition coil factory box remains clean and structurally intact as can be verified in the description photos. The end label on the box provides product information regarding the contents and clearly identifies the coil as being from NAPA. The information on the box end appears and reads as follows below. Refer to description photos #9, #10, #13, #14, #15 and #16 for more details about what I have described. “NAPA ECHLIN IGNITION COIL” “K23348” “1C12” “COIL / BOBINE” “MADE IN MEXICO” “FABRIQUE AU MEXICO” “HECHO EN MEXICO” and a UPC code of “707390405940” I copied the product specification for this ignition coil directly from the NAPA Echlin website and am including it below for your further review and consideration.
