Description: This is a hard to find polished version of Lodge's No 10 cast iron skillet with markers mark "E" from the late 1930s. This skillet is very shinny because of the high polish finished from the factory, not from applied oil. The cooking surface has hints of light utensil scores and just a couple of very fine patches of etching from corrosion. These are undetectable as you glide your fingers over an almost glass smooth surface. The cooking surface does dip downward passed the heat ring and cause the pan to have a movement on a polished granite surface (see photos). Like most vintage cast iron skillet, not recommended for use on a ceramic stovetop. Not an issue for use on a gas range. The is really a great skillet! This item was stripped down to bare metal using collector approved lye bath and electrolysis treatments. This process ensures the removal of all residue from previous use making it safe to use once more. The item is lightly seasoned with one round of Crisco at 450 for 1 hour. This item was photographed in very bright light to highlight fine details. Under these lighting conditions, items may take on a brown color. Items are much darker under normal light. Photos are part of the item’s description. Please use them for a clearer understanding of items’ overall condition. If you have any questions, please let me know.
