It is ready for immediate food use. The tin plate is nearly perfect on this attachment; amazing for its age to find the tin in such good condition. This "P", "PK" and "#7" pastry knife was manufactured by Hobart in the 1940 to 1960 range. It works on both the Model Gs and N50s. It is made of steel with tin plating over it. This attachment has been out of production by Hobart for over 60 years now. It is rare to find one especially in such good condition. This pastry knife will not fit any other KitchenAid or Hobart mixer other than the Model G and N50. Even though it will lock on to the planetary of a Model H-5 it can't be used on this model as the planetary of the Model G and N50 spins opposite in direction to that of the Model H-5. Ask questions prior to purchase as there are no returns.
