Description: The West Virginia-based china manufacturer Homer Laughlin was already cooking (excuse the pun) in the early 1930s when it introduced its OvenServe line, dishes that could go from the oven to the table. In 1937, it upped the ante once more with the "Kitchen Kraft" line. At first, Kitchen Kraft went minimalist in design, closer to Fiesta. Then it went both Art Deco and Southwestern in style. And, to keep compatibility with the old guard, it provided a number of pieces in its classic floral patterns, like this one. And, carrying the OvenServe name too, it continued to make the "oven-to-table" promise. For one reason or another, HLC discontinued Kitchen Kraft production in 1944, a short period in the long history that is Homer Laughlin China, but making it easy to date Kitchen Kraft dishes.
