This copy combines both books into one volume with separate title and copyright pages. It is a first printing in the brown cloth with pine needle decoration across spine and front cover and with the publishers October 1884 'Old Corner Book Store' Catalogue at the rear. Book Condition: 8vo. 2 volumes in 1. 399; [2], 269 pages + 22-page catalogue - Publisher's gold cloth decorated in black; spine-ends, tips and corners worn with fraying, recent restoration includes re-glued signatures and reinforcing the inner hinges, a previous owner's small label affixed to the front pastedown. Some toning with a few leaves browned from bookmarks. Overall, a very good copy of the rare 1885 first American edition.
