Description: Offered for immediate purchase . . . . . . is a packet containing fifty-five (55) ~ Vintage *Small* Gar Scales Dyed Glossy Mottled Deep Turquoise ~ in the usual variety of shapes and sizes, measuring from approximately five-sixteenths of an inch (5/16") to approximately five-eighths of an inch (5/8") long. Collected from vintage supplies I've been fortunate enough to purchase throughout the years, dyed Gar Scales like these were used from the 1940s to 1960s era to create pretty little flower petals and blossoms for seashell jewelry, flowers, pictures, and floral bouquets. And, what striking accents these would create in Sailor's Valentines! (Please note ~ the sample blossoms shown in one of the photos is for illustration purposes only and are not included with your purchase.)
