Description: Up for your consideration today is this extremely nice Rainbow D2 vacuum cleaner. This is a later model that is a chocolate color with gold accents, (like D3 era accessories). This vacuum is from somewhere around1978/79. Overall this vacuum is in really nice cosmetic shape with a few minor dents and a little discoloration in paint in areas. The hose is in great shape as well as power nozzle cord and straps that attach it to hose. I have meticulously gone through this machine deep cleaning/sterilizing every inch of it as well as rebuilding critical areas. I disassemble the motor completely and washed the main housing, blade assembly, spider, separator, as well as cleaned internal motor components including armature and field coil. I installed brand new lower bearing as well as brand new upper bearing along with upper bearing plate assembly. Once motor was reassembled, I turned my attention to main vacuum housing giving it a good washing and cleaning. I installed a brand new power switch and new power cord. When motor was remarried to the main vacuum housing; I installed a brand new flange using stainless steel screws and also installed a brand new flange gasket. (Note: have photos of the new flange with gasket removed so you can see the new screws that are under this gasket. The main unit sits on a very nice condition water basin as well. The dolly is also in great shape. The work didn't end there....I went on to service the power nozzle as well. I disassembled it and gave it the exact same treatment. I also replaced the agitators on the rotating assembly, (the red bars that beat the carpet). I oiled bushings and installed a brand new belt. This is the 1024G power nozzle which runs at a higher RPM than earlier revisions and does a great job at cleaning carpets. This vacuum has very strong suction with a little over 60" of water lift. It comes with the following: Crevice tool Dusting brush Sprayer with jar Separator cleaning brush Bare floor tool ( Note: this tool is not original, it came from a D4C but works very well) Wands for bare floor tool 1024G power nozzle with wands Hose with wire for power nozzle Water basin Dolly Exhaust cap is also still present on this unit Why buy expensive chinese plastic when you can buy serviceable american metal. Although this is a vintage vacuum, these units stand the test of time and this one is fresh and ready to be put to use in your home today.
