Description: Auction description France circa 1920: A Terrace in Provence, Lovely Postimpressionist View, Signed From a sidewalk flea market in Paris comes this lovely, early 20th century gouache on paper depicting the view from a terrace somewhere in southern France, perhaps Provence. A sculpture of a nude young woman dominates the foreground, some potted flowers to her right, and in the farther distance we see a row of cypress trees. Judging from the colors of the vegetation, I think the season is spring. It's delightful, evocative work in postimpressionist style. Dimensions are about 4.5 inches by 6.5 inches.
