On both, the simple lace is outlined with purl stitches. The side edges are knit in Eugen's favorite twisted garter stitch with a cable twist every 10 rows to form the scallop. Scarves shown in dk weight yarn, but the patterns easily adapt to different weights of yarn, as well as for wider scarves and wraps. The versatility and beauty of these designs ensure they will be a perennial favorite. Blocked Size: Trailing Fuchsia Lace Scarf: 6" wide and 61" long. Double Fuchsia Lace Scarf: 6" wide and 52" long. Yarn Requirements: Choose a soft sport weight yarn. Each scarf requires about 280 yards. Needles: US size 4 (3.5 mm) needles, or size to obtain gauge.
