Description: EPC Poole Silver Co #1016 VTG Four (4) Toed Oval Meat Platter W/ Well Tree - Silverplate-Hollowware 1960's EUC The letters "EPC" stand for Electro Plated Copper Alloy which is the base for this meat platter along with the rope like edging around the outer rim of the platter also known as a Gadroon border. Dragooning is a term given to the decorative rope like edging or a repeating series of vertical curves. These both are examples of the technical skill and work that went into the creation of this piece. This platter exudes a timeless elegance and level of craftmanship akin to it's 1960's time period. Though this platter is not "shiny and bright" the age marks on the front & back are a testament to its 60+ years history. This Meat platter is extremely useful and versatile with it's Well Tree in the center for meat juices to run off and the 4 Toes (Feet) to keep any heat off of your table. Around the edge is a 1.25" inch rim with a dragoon border to help keep the contents on the platter. Silverplate is smooth and solid all over the platter except on one rim there is a 1/4" inch indent - no break in the metal or coatings It measures a good 16" inches in length and 11.5" inches wide and stands 1.25" inches tall.
